In December of 2009, FARIN signed a contract with the American Bankers Association to redevelop the ABA Liquidity Toolbox which was last done in 2001. This series of books will incorporate the newest approaches and guidelines for measuring, managing and reporting liquidity within the banking industry.
The need for a rewrite has been born from the market activities in the past 8-9 years, including the events of 2008-2009 that saw a record number of failures, many of which resulted from inadequate liquidity management practices. The toolkit is expected to be released in early 2010 and will be available free to all ABA members. In addition, FARIN is running a series of Webinars on the issues in liquidity management.
